The introduction of Terminator technology to indigenous communities in Cuzco disrupts traditional practices of seed conservation, breeding, and exchange and thereby threatens Andean and Amazonian biodiversity, livelihood strategies, traditional knowledge and innovation systems, the role of women in Andean society, and indigenous cultural and spiritual values.
