Indigenous Peoples depend on saved seeds for re-planting

Indigenous communities in Cuzco depend on seed saved from the harvest as a primary source of seed for re-planting, breeding, and exchange, practices which underpin Andean and Amazonian biodiversity and livelihood strategies, t raditional knowledge and innovation systems customarily administered by indigenous women, and indigenous cultural and spiritual values that honor fertility and continuity of life.
